Let’s be honest: words like remade and vintage are used quite a lot these days. What once felt new and exciting sometimes risks losing its meaning along the way.
But every now and then, you come across a brand that reminds you what those words were originally about. TK Garment Supply is one of them.
The brand comes from Fukui, a Japanese city with a long textile tradition and generations of skilled artisans. In the early 1990s, Hiroyuki Takeuchi took over his father’s fabric wholesale business and began importing second-hand American clothing – long before remake or rework became commonly used terms.
Working closely with vintage garments led to an interesting realization. Old clothes carry history, but they also come with imperfections – unusual sizing, stains and signs of wear. Instead of seeing flaws, Takeuchi saw possibility. By carefully repairing and reconstructing these fabrics, he and his team found a way to give them a new life.
At TK Garment Supply, every piece begins by dismantling old textiles and rebuilding them into something new. Nothing is wasted and no two garments are exactly the same.
What we appreciate about TK Garment Supply is that none of this feels like a trend. It simply comes from a genuine respect for fabric, craftsmanship and the stories materials carry with them.
We’ve known TK Garment Supply for quite some time, so it feels very nice to finally find a little place for them in our online shop.
